It probably goes without saying that I love to read, and I read a lot. My favourite things to read are

  • newspapers and magazines
  • children’s picture books and non-fiction
  • young adult novels
  • non-fiction in the areas of math, science, technology, education, and culture
  • mysteries
  • short stories
  • poetry

But I’m quite happy reading just about anything: random magazines in waiting rooms, ads in buses or subway cars, concert programs the day after a show. Even catalogues and brochures can fascinate and entertain me. I recently received the brochure for the upcoming season at a local theatre festival and spent a good half hour reading it from cover to cover and thinking about which plays I might like to see (all of them!).

I like talking about and sharing what I read, but I’m not committed to writing about it, at least not regularly. I’d rather just... read!
